When paying vehicle taxes, your decal will be mailed within 7 - 10 days.
The Treasurer, an elected official, is responsible for the collection of real property and vehicle taxes. The Treasurer is also responsible for the deposition and the disbursement of County government, City government, schools, and special taxing districts funds.
The County Tax Sale is held on the first Monday in October each year. The properties going to the sale are advertised in The McCormick Messenger three consecutive weeks prior to the sale. After the property goes for sale, it can be redeemed by the owner on record (within one year) by paying taxes, assessments, penalties, and costs, together with 3%, 6%, 9%, or 12 % interest.
